In one of the most significant announcements made at Star Wars Celebration 2022, Respawn and EA confirmed that Jedi: Survivor was real and that it will be coming in 2023 D2R ladder items. Even as fans are trying to find their thoughts on the initial teaser trailer, Monaghan himself has now expressed his opinions on the subject.
On Twitter following the announcement that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was unveiled, Monaghan said that the game is something has been in development for several years at this stage. Although he didn't speak anything about the plot of Jedi: Survivor will touch upon, he did give some thought to thematic aspects of the game as well, particularly in relation with Fallen Order.
"I enjoy it when stories evolve through their characters and their audience. I'm thrilled to share the work Lucasfilm, Respawn, EA, and me have been working on during the last couple of years," Monaghan said on social media. "I'm proud to say Jedi: Survivor is a complex, mature, and exciting evolution of an high-risk game. "In a general sense it's very interesting to learn that the topic to be discussed in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be more sinister then Fallen Order.
While the original game did have some fun moments the game was generally quite dark by itself that featured some tough moments. To be told that Jedi: Survivor will further be leaning into this with a tone more mature indicates that we should certainly gear up for an experience that promises to be emotional.
At this point in time we don't have much we are aware of the game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is going to bring. What we know is that the game is expected to be launched in 2023 (likely around the beginning in the calendar year) and will only be available to PS5, Xbox Series X and PC.
