When World of Warcraft originally launched back in 2004, it brought in a huge number of players and quickly grew to have millions of wow classic gold readers worldwide. Apart from the sheer scale of this game, a massive force behind the success of this MMO was that the world in which it had been set.

Azeroth has existed since the first Warcraft: Orcs and Humans started in 1994 and the subsequent Warcraft two games further assembled on the narrative and lore. Warcraft 3 has been probably the most popular of these early games also introduced us to a number of the characters which would go on to play huge roles in World of Warcraft, including Sylvanas Windrunner, Jaina Proudmore, and Arthas Menethil, among others.

So when World of Warcraft launched in 2004, each of the lore, background, and locations that had been laid out from the earlier Warcraft games were attracted to life within Blizzard's vast MMO.

If you've only got a few hours a week to dedicate to a MMO, Classic might not be the match for you personally and you might be better off considering modern Warcraft to fulfill that Azeroth-shaped hole. Having said this, if you are not particularly worried about endgame content such as raiding or max-level dungeons and just wish to explore Azeroth as it was in 2006 then by all means, continue. But if you would like to enjoy everything that Classic offers, then you need to be prepared to spend a lot of time not only levelling your character but completing various Attunement quests and grinding reputation to buy classic gold wow access some of those late-game instances.
